Congratulations on your win at the Adobo Throwdown 3.0! How does it feel to have your Lumpia recognized by the judges?
It’s an honor to have been selected as the winner of the lumpia competition. We appreciate all the judges hard work and it’s a great feeling after all the work and effort put in to know it is appreciated.
What inspired you to enter the Lumpia Competition? Is there a special story or tradition behind your lumpia?
I have been cooking and creating lumpia for as long as I can remember. My biggest inspiration are my three boys. If there is one lesson I want to leave for them is that you can literWeally do and be anything you want. Never be limited to what others expect or tell you that youre worth.Can you tell us about your lumpia recipe? What makes it stand out from others?
We wanted to create something sweet and fun for others to eat. We took our homemade New York Style Cheesecake rolled it and deep fried that bad boy… not much too it.
Did you encounter any challenges while preparing your lumpia for the competition? How did you manage them?
Time Management has always been a challenge for me. Im a very optimistic person and a bit of a control freak. So when it comes to getting stuff done I think I can do more they I can and I hate asking for help.
What was the highlight of your experience at the Adobo Throwdown?
The Entire experience was great!!! Every year it gets better and better! My favorite part was how the vending was handled. Having all the food together allows everyone to get a chance to put their food out and for all the customers to browse.
What advice would you give to future competitors in the Lumpia Competition?
Enjoy the ride!
Who or what has been the biggest influence on your lumpia-making skills?
My biggest influences in y lumpia making skills I would have to attribute to My Fam Friends and Fiancé. They always push me to do better whether they know it or not.
And YES We love Mamasitas!!! Its our “go to” for some of our chicken and barbque recipes!!!
We Mamasitas Tocino daily at our location and has definitely become a staple in our cooking!
