Adobo Throwdown MC Profile: Almie Latimore

We are thrilled to announce that Almie Pachoco-Latimore will be gracing the stage as one of the esteemed MCs at the highly anticipated Adobo Throwdown Cooking Competition and Food Expo 2.0!

A dedicated and accomplished teacher and mentor, Almida “Almie” Pachoco-Latimore is a native of Dampigan, Sta. Rita Samar, Philippines. An honor student, she graduated from Dampigan Elementary School and Leyte National High School in Tacloban City, Philippines. After finishing high school, Almie attended Leyte Normal University (then Leyte State College) and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (Cum Laude) with Reading as her specialization. In 2001, she received a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education from Southwestern University, Cebu City.

Almie taught full-time in a number of schools in Tacloban City including Leyte Normal University Laboratory School and Professional Education Unit. In 2002, Almie was offered a position with the
Houston Independent School District in Houston, Texas. Success followed Almie to the United States as she quickly adapted to her new life. Soon she was a Teacher of the Year at her school and a Special Education Department Chair.

In 2011, Almie moved to San Antonio and married the late Dr. Carey H. Latimore IV. Her first job in San Antonio was with Judson ISD as a Resource Teacher and Liaison to the Special Education department in the district. After 2 years, she moved to Northside ISD and taught there for 9 years. Currently, she is teaching at Medio Creek Elementary, Southwest ISD.

A member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Almie is also an active member of the Focolare Movement. Likewise, she is a Member of the Board, Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-Central Texas Region in San Antonio, Texas.
