Honorable Rodolfo I. Dumapias Joins Adobo Throwdown 3.0 - Meet the Former Philippine Ambassador and Diplomat
Rodolfo I. Dumapias is a retired career diplomat and served as Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and later to Mexico. Prior to his Middle East posting, he was Head of the Office of Intelligence, Department of Foreign Affairs, Manila. He served earlier in Peking, China, as part of opening staff, and Hamburg, Germany, and was top envoy and consul general in Malaysia, Romania, and South Korea. His other passions include planting a church for foreign workers, teaching at a seminary, and preaching in various churches for a global diaspora ministry. He retired in San Antonio in 2005 with his wife Eva, his daughter and grandson. He authored the book, Kingdom Beyond Diplomacy: Journey to the End of the Age, which documents real life experiences as a career diplomat, including those in hardship posts and major historical events around the world. He is a member of the Elders Council of the San Antonio Chapter of the Filipino American National Historical Society, through which he shares earlier historical experiences, such as being a young farmworker in Delano, California around the time Larry Itliong organized Filipinos for the Delano Grape Strike in the 1960's.
