Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-Central Texas Region Selects San Antonio Food Bank for Humanitarian Projects

San Antonio, Texas - June 30, 2023 - The Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-Central Texas Region (PACC-CTR) is proud to announce its partnership with the San Antonio Food Bank as part of its humanitarian projects. The San Antonio Food Bank will join the Art Relief Mobile Kitchen as two worthy causes aimed at feeding the hungry, and they will receive the proceeds from the highly anticipated Adobo Throwdown Cooking Competition and Food Expo 2.0.


The Adobo Throwdown Cooking Competition and Food Expo 2.0, presented by PACC-CTR, is a remarkable event scheduled to take place on August 5-6, 2023, at the Schertz Civic Center in Schertz, Texas. This event aims to celebrate the rich culture of the Philippines by showcasing its diverse cuisine, vibrant music, and captivating dance performances.

San Antonio Food Bank selected to be part of PACC-CTR Humanitarian Projects

The centerpiece of the competition will be the Adobo Throwdown, where both home cooks and professionals will compete for cash prizes by presenting their best rendition of the unofficial national dish of the Philippines - Adobo. This culinary showdown promises to delight the taste buds of attendees while highlighting the talent and creativity of the participating chefs.


Gene Carangal, PACC-CTR Vice-Chair and Adobo Throwdown Event Promoter, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, saying, "We are thrilled to have the San Antonio Food Bank join us as a beneficiary of our Humanitarian Projects. By selecting the San Antonio Food Bank as one of the recipients of the event's proceeds, PACC-CTR aims to support the food bank's ongoing efforts to provide meals and resources to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the Central Texas region. The Art Relief Mobile Kitchen, another beneficiary, shares a similar vision by using art and culinary education to help individuals and communities affected by poverty.
