What inspired you to enter the Lumpia Competition? Is there a special story or tradition behind your lumpia?
My son likes to cook, his grandmother makes Lumpia for special occasions, I encouraged him to use her recipe we cherish so much. I entered because it was a value to enter compared to going to the event both days.
Can you tell us about your lumpia recipe? What makes it stand out from others?
Italian cream cheese, pineapple and some other easy ingredients.
Did you encounter any challenges while preparing your lumpia for the competition? How did you manage them?
We were late in our preparation and we just made the deadline, but ours were really hot and fresh because of it maybe?
What was the highlight of your experience at the Adobo Throwdown?
The joy my son and family had over participating.
What advice would you give to future competitors in the Lumpia Competition?
Go and have fun, cooking and time with family should be joyous.
Who or what has been the biggest influence on your lumpia-making skills?
My son, he figured out the technique of rolling them
